Here's Everything That Was Changed On The 2025 Toyota Camry

With several mechanical, technological, and design enhancements, the ninth generation Camry is really just a highly modified version of the previous generation vehicle.

With the recent unveiling of the 2025 Toyota Camry, Toyota gave us a preview of what to expect from the ninth iteration of the best-selling sedan in America. The Camry no longer comes with a V6 option; it is exclusively hybrid. A completely new interior, a reworked suspension system, and updated styling are also included. This is a detailed summary of all the changes.

Despite the updated design, Toyota assured Motor1 that the Camry is still based on the same TNGA-K platform. As such, rather than being a completely new car, we would consider this a significant update. This is especially clear when comparing the side profiles, which have almost the same appearance. However, other than that, the designers did a good job of setting the two cars apart, such as with the redesigned front fascia. It puts it more in line with other vehicles in the range, such as the Crown and the Prius, by utilizing Toyota's recognizable "hammerhead" form and thin daytime running lights. Additionally, Toyota updated the option sheet with two new color possibilities.

The last generation Camry's three powertrains have been replaced by a new four-cylinder hybrid system. A 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four mated to two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack sits beneath the engine. According to Toyota, the system can produce 225 horsepower total, or 232 horsepower if all-wheel drive is selected.

Although purchasers won't have an option for engine, they will have one for ride configuration. According to Toyota, the suspension has undergone significant revisions for "enhanced responsiveness and agile handling." For the various sportier trims, there are new shocks and specially tuned setups that provide even greater handling power and stability.

The greatest modifications for the 2025 Toyota Camry will be found inside. With a larger 12.3-inch gauge cluster for XLE and XSE trims and a basic seven-inch digital gauge cluster for LE and SE models, the dashboard and center console have undergone a complete redesign. The infotainment system has a basic eight-inch touchscreen, but a larger 12.3-inch screen is also an option. Standard features include wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Along with a plethora of options, there's a JBL sound system, in-car WiFi, a digital key feature that lets you unlock and start the car with your smartphone, and a 10-inch head-up display. Elevated models such as the XLE and XSE feature front-side laminated glass to reduce wind noise.

Many new safety features, such as Toyota's Safety Sense 3.0, are standard on the 2025 Toyota Camry. The features include automatic high beams, lane departure alert with steering assistance, lane tracing assistance, road sign assistance, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed dynamic radar cruise control, and proactive driving assist, which employs the camera and radar to "provide gentle braking and/or steering to support driving tasks such as distance control between your vehicle and a preceding vehicle, pedestrian, or bicyclist."

The Camry also has standard features including rear cross-traffic alerts and blind-spot monitoring. If you choose the Premium Plus package on the XLE or XSE trim level, you will receive automated braking for both front and rear parking assistance, traffic jam assistance, lane change assistance, and a panoramic view monitor. Therefore, even though the 2025 Camry isn't "all new," it is a significant redesign.
