Manual transaxle assy (From July, 2003)

REPLACEMENT

COMPONENTS: Partial engine assy

1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

2. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSY RH

3. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSY LH

4. REMOVE CLUTCH ACCUMULATOR ASSY

5. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSY

6. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

1. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
2.  Disconnect the back−up lamp switch connector, speedometer sensor connector and starter connector.

7. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE No.3

a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire No.3.

Remove engine wire No.3

8. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP

a. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 Ωire harness clamps.

Remove wire harness clamp

9. REMOVE STARTER ASSY

a. Remove the 2 bolts and starter assy.

Remove starter assy

10. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET FR

a. Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting bracket FR.

Remove engine mounting bracket FR

11. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION CASE PROTECTOR

a. Remove the 2 bolts and manual transmission case protector.

Remove manual transmission case protector

12. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET No.1

a. Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe support bracket No.1.

Remove exhaust pipe support bracket No.1

13. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

a. Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting insulator LH.

14. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSY

1.  Remove the 10 bolts.
2. Separate and remove the transaxle from the engine.

STALL MANUAL TRANSAXLE ASSY

a. Align the input shaft with the clutch disc and install the transaxle to the engine.

b. Install the 10 bolts.

Torque: Bolt A: 64 N·m (653 kgf·cm, 47 ft·lbf) Bolt B: 46 N·m (470 kgf·cm, 34 ft·lbf) Bolt C: 44 N·m (449 kgf·cm, 32 ft·lbf)

16. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

a. Install the engine mounting insulator LH with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 64 N·m (653 kgf·cm, 47 ft·lbf)

HINT: Tighten them in order: A, B, C and D.

 Install engine mounting insulator LH

17. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET No.1

a. Install the exhaust pipe support bracket No.1 Ωith the 2 bolts.

Torque: 19 N·m (194 kgf·cm, 14 ft·lbf)

Install exhaust pipe support bracket No.1

18. INSTALL MANUAL TRANSMISSION CASE PROTECTOR

a. Install the manual transmission cse protector with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 18 N·m (184 kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf)

Install manual transmission case protector

19. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET FR

a. Install the engine mounting bracket FR with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 64 N·m (653 kgf·cm, 47 ft·lbf)

 Install engine mounting bracket FR

20. INSTALL STARTER ASSY

a. Install the starter assy with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 39 N·m (398 kgf·cm, 29 ft·lbf)

Install starter assy

21. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP

a. Install the 2 Ωire harness clamps with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 8.4 N·m (86 kgf·cm, 74 in.·lbf)

Install wire harness clamp

22. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE No.3

a. Connect the engine wire No. 3 with the bolt.

Torque: 9.6 N·m (98 kgf·cm, 85 in.·lbf)

Install engine wire No.3

23. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS

1. Install the wire harness clamp.
2. Connect the back−up lamp switch connector, speedometer sensor connector and starter connector.

24. INSTALL CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSY

25. INSTALL CLUTCH ACCUMULATOR ASSY

26. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSY LH

27. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSY RH

28. INSTALL ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
